Oven-baked Honey Garlic Chicken Wings Recipe

These honey garlic chicken wings are delicious. In a sweet and savory sauce, crispy, tender chicken wings are first roasted in the oven to the perfect crispness. You don't need to cook chicken wings to get them to be perfectly crispy; you can enjoy them right out of the oven.

Ingredients required

  • 3 pounds of chicken wings, or 20 to 30 wings
  • 2/3 cup low-sodium soy sauce
  • 1/3 cup water
  • 4 green onions, coarsely chopped
  • 1/2 cup rice vinegar, or cider vinegar
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar, packed
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons ground ginger
  • 6 cloves garlic, pressed or minced
  • 2 tablespoons of plain or toasted Asian-style sesame oil
  • 1/2 teaspoon chile-garlic paste (optional)
  • 1/2 cup chopped green onion, or cilantro (optional)

How to make

  • Gather the ingredients.
  • The chicken wing edges should be cut and discarded away. At the joint, cut the wings.
  • Mix the soy sauce, water, vinegar, honey, brown sugar, chopped green onions, ginger, garlic, sesame oil, and, if using, red pepper or chile paste.
  • Chicken wings and the soy sauce combination should be combined in a food storage bag or nonreactive container. Refrigerate for two to six hours after sealing the bag or covering the container.
  • Set the oven to 375°F.
  • Use nonstick foil, heavily grease, or spray nonstick cooking spray to line a big baking pan.
  • In a saucepan, pour the marinade; set it aside.
  • In the baking pan you just prepared, arrange the chicken wing pieces. 30 minutes of baking. After turning them over, put the wings back in the oven. The chicken wings should now bake for an additional 30 minutes or until well browned.
  • Bring the marinade to a full rolling boil ten minutes before serving; then reduce the heat and simmer for five minutes. Dip the wings into it.
  • Before serving, sprinkle with thinly sliced green onion tops or fresh cilantro, if desired.

What to serve with honey garlic oven-baked chicken wings

Although a sauce isn't necessary, you might try a sweet and sour sauce like this gochujang mayonnaise if you're truly craving it. If you prefer blue cheese sauce, I believe they would also go well with it.

Add some steamed rice or fried rice and some steamed Asian vegetables to my honey-glazed chicken wings if you're serving them as a meal. Add some of this Asian slaw or some really simple cucumber slices to the side.

Final word

These honey garlic chicken wings are incredibly delicious and are made with honey, soy sauce, and a few other aromatics. It always works when honey and garlic are combined. You enjoy them served as dinner with some rice on the side, but they're also the ideal meal to serve at parties or other get-togethers.
